Paul

Having both recently passed our Direct Access ‘Big Bike’ test; we wanted to express our sincere gratitude to yourself and graham for the expert and professional tuition we received from you at Beacon!

As you know, we speak with experience of another training school, who on first inspection of their website offered an unparalleled training environment coupled with reassuringly high fees.

It was with trepidation that turned up on the sunny October Saturday, wondering what teaching style, bike condition and facilities you would have to offer. Within a couple of hours we were both convinced that we had made the right choice.

Your motorbikes are clearly well maintained, the bike that reliably got me through my test was nearly 10 years old, but rode far better than any of the other bikes I had experienced. It also helped, me being vertically challenged, that it had a lowered seat!

What we both found refreshing was your teaching style. It did not involve shouting, but was calm and measured and at all times we felt like we were being encouraged by a caring old friend. You found ways to iron out some of the bad habits we’d picked up previously and were honest in your feedback as to our readiness for our tests.

The off-road area at the school that you used for our module 1 practice was surprising similar to the real test environment. It was fenced off, level and had a near perfect surface - just what we needed to get on top of the slalom and u-turn.

When it came to the test - we both went in to it with complete confidence that we had the riding skill and ability to pass. In fact the only obstacle was overcoming the natural nerves on the day.

This week we take delivery of our two new bikes (Suzuki 5FV650K9 Gladius) and when the spring comes we look forward to continuing our learning experience with you.
I would encourage all prospective motorbike students to take note of your high pass rates and look no further than Beacon.

To Paul, Leo, Graham and all at Beacon,

Just wanted to say thanks again for an excellent week's training. Absolutely top-notch professionalism with humour and chocolate biscuits - what more could anyone ask for?

Best Wishes,

Laban

Dear Paul, Leo and Graham,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the excellent instruction and patience that I received last week. I arrived really knowing nothing about bikes, and I would like to think that I have come away after six days being able to sort of sound like I know what I am talking about, and with a standard of riding that will stand me in good stead for getting my own bike. I still don't think I will quiet believe it until i'm out there on my own without Paul nagging me to position myself correctly at the junction.

I can't fault anything about the week no matter how hard I try to think of something and I do have particularly high standards, so well done to you all! I can't believe that having been a bag of nerves at the start of the week that I was actually sad to leave on Friday, but don't worry I will be back when I have my own bike.
Best wishes to you all.

Hannah xx.

Hi Paul,

Just a quick message of thanks after my recent pass on the DAS. The level of training that I feel that I have received has surpassed any of my expectations. On reflection, I can now acknowledge that your coaching was not just to be a suitable standard to approach the DAS. Course, but to prepare me for a lifetime of riding fun. Any initial fears I had have now evaporated and the confidence you instilled into me is a testament to your training approach. Whilst demanding at times, you gave us the knowledge and belief to realise my potential and I for one will be eternally grateful. Thanks, good luck & remember to keep in touch
Cheers

Hi Paul

Well I still cannot really believe that this time last week I was waiting to do my motorcycle practical test for a full category A licence, rather like waiting to be hung I should imagine, and to think that I passed first time! I am very grateful to you for your expert coaching and encouragement. I thought that while you were focused on the skills necessary in the practicle test, your underlying approach was to teach the essentials of safe riding while having fun. I believe that you exercised very good judgement as to when to coax me to go faster, turn tighter etc., to move my skills forward. As to the “u- turn from hell” well I did it in the end! Once I have sorted my self out with my first big bike (which may not be until around March) I will certainly get back in touch with you to organise some advanced training.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Simon - Nottingham

Dear Paul

I thought I would just drop you a line to thank you once again for getting me though my bike test, after my experience with ********* it was a pleasant change to meet someone who approached the training process with such professionalism and dedication and with decent training bikes, without charging a fortune, I know I would not have passed without your help and you can rest assured I will not hesitate to recommend you to any one who needs motor cycle training.
Once again many thanks.
